Spring Picnic 2004

Clear Lake Park

 

Join us as we celebrate the conclusion of a successful first year!  We have come a long way in a short time and now it is time to relax and enjoy!  We are preparing an enjoyable day of picnic festivities, complete with a catered lunch, cards, dominoes, volleyball, and other games.  For those of you with children, Clear Lake Park features an extensive playground area.  For lovers of watercraft, jet ski rentals and parasailing is available a few blocks from the park and a public boat ramp is adjacent to the park.

 

At the picnic, we will honor students, teachers and engineers from our FIRST Robotics Team - the S.W.A.T. Team - and we are proud to join them in celebrating an impressive rookie year in the regional competition.  We will also hold the first NSBE-HSC Chapter Awards ceremony, recognizing several chapter members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a successful year.  Other Houston area NSBE chapters are invited to join with us and enjoy a Saturday in the park.

 

Incoming chapter executive board members are asked to be at the park at 8am for a leadership workshop that will be held from 9:30am to 11:30am.  Breakfast will be provided.  All others should plan to arrive around noon.

 

The cost of the catered lunch is $5.  Payments may be made online at http://www.nsbe-hsc.org/NSBEStore.htm or may be made in person to any current NSBE-HSC Executive Board member.  Those who wish to bring/grill their own food at the park may do so in lieu of purchasing a catered lunch.  If you are not purchasing a lunch, we do ask that you RSVP here and include the total number of persons in your party so that we may have an accurate count of the total number of people who will be attending.  We have several surprise items in store that will need an accurate count.

Directions from I-45

 

Take the NASA Road One exit, heading east (towards NASA/Seabrook/etc.)

Continue past NASA-Johnson Space Center.

Continue past the Hilton – the lake is now on your right.

Continue past the Space Center Boulevard intersection.

Begin looking to your right.

Continue past the public boat ramp.

Clear Lake Park is immediately on your right.  Turn into the parking lot at the traffic light.

Look for the NSBE-Houston Space Chapter banner at the pavilion closest to the parking lot.

 

Please dress for the weather.  The picnic will be held rain or shine!
