What are the requirements for a NSBE Alumni chapter?

¨ Ten engineers or scientists who have agreed to serve as members

Note: non-scientist/engineers can (and should) also join the chapter

¨ Officers, including at a minimum:

o President

o Vice-President

o Secretary

o Treasurer

o Programs Chair

¨ Chapter Constitution (click here for sample)

¨ Registration via NSBE Online

What if my Center doesn’t have enough engineers to form a chapter?

Chances are it does, though you might not know them personally. The number (as of 2/23/04) of Black science and engineering civil service personnel at each NASA center is as follows:

Headquarters 15

Ames 20

Glenn 68

Langley 66

Dryden 10

Goddard 135

Marshall 124

Stennis 14

Johnson 129

Kennedy 60

These numbers do not include contractors, who should also join. And you do not have to be Black to join NSBE. Thus, each NASA center is capable of supporting a NSBE-AE chapter.
